Groundwater Quality
When drilling for natural gas, many companies create flow back ponds to contain and responsibly dispose of water used during the hydraulic fracturing process. Unfortunately, in some cases these ponds are improperly disposed of. It is difficult to accurately quantify the impacts associated with these improperly decommissioned flow back wells, especially if there is no documentation or public knowledge of the contaminated burial site. One way to understand the impacts of this waste water is to test aquifers for specific concentrations of chemicals.
These include,
- Concentrations of Benzene
- Detection of Toluene
- Concentrations of Methane
- Concentrations of Dissolved Oxygen
- Concentrations of Fluoride
- Concentrations of Nitrate
- Concentrations of Chloride
- Concentrations of Arsenic
- Concentrations of Selenium
- Concentrations of Iron
- Concentration of Sulfate
- Concentrations of Barium
- Concentrations of Dissolved Solids
- Concentrations of Manganese
